Join NHHS!

Do you want to join one of Scandinavia’s most active student unions? Now you have the chance! A position in the student union will provide you with many useful experiences, challenges and opportunities to work with something you are passionate about. You will get to know students across classes, as well as establish many new friendships.

A position in NHHS is developing, educational and not least social. Theoretical knowledge from school is admittedly important, but practical experience from NHHS is extremely valuable later in life. There is a wide range of positions that can be applied for, and it is easy to find something you are interested in.

Whether you are attending your first year at NHH or are an experienced NHHS member eho wants to have fun or are passionate about influencing the subjects at NHH, there is a position that is right for you! All we expect is that you want to learn something new and spend some time at the student union.

You can submit yourself both as an individual candidate or as a “blokk”.  The first deadline  for submitting your candidacy is Sunday 4th of April at 12am. The second deadline is Sunday 11th of April at 12am. 

You can submit your candidacy by clicking on “Submit your candidacy”. Your and possibly your “Blokk”s picture to pu.valg@nhhs.no. If you do not submit your picture, you will not be presented with the other candidates. 

Submitting as a “Blokk” means that you and a group go together and apply at the different positions in some of the boards that are up for election.

NHH-Board

Every year, two student members to the board at NHH are elected. Now the time has come to elect two new members and you can apply as a candidate at the Spring Election. As a student member of the NHH board you will have the opportunity to be the voice of the students when important decisions for NHH´s future are made. Student Games – Bergen Challenge

Leader

As the leader of Studentlekene Bergen Challenge, you will have the main responsibility for the project’s internal and external processes. Internally, as the chairman of the board, you must ensure that the project reaches its goals and overlook that all work-tasks are followed up. Furthermore, you have to make sure that all volunteers feel welcome and that they get something positive out of the experience. Externally, you must work with external parties, such as the Norwegian Student Sports Association and the Student Parliament, in addition to being the organization’s face towards the media and other parties. Furthermore, you will have the overall responsibility for preparing, as well as achieving, short-term and long-term strategies, in addition to the project’s final result.

As qualities, it is important to be able to see everyone in the organization, bringing out the best of the others around you, and generally be present for everyone. This is not a position for you who are only looking for CV-experience, as it requires a great deal of motivation and interest. Still, it is an experience of a lifetime, and you will work on an incredible number of positive experiences that will undoubtedly be taken forward!

Head of Financial Affairs

Studentfestival is about the joy of sports, friendship and unforgettable memories. However, a robust economy at the bottom is necessary to achieve all of this. Head of Financial Affairs must ensure this through efficient management control. Hence, the position entails great and valuable responsibility as well as a golden opportunity to test acquired knowledge on real life problems during student days including budget planning and accounting. Furthermore, you get to test your leadership abilities and to make decisions under uncertainty.

In order to succeed as Head of Financial Affairs, it is important to be a skillful team player. Moreover, it is important to identify possible solutions where others might see problems. You must also dare to take unpopular decisions if this is the best for the project as a whole. Most important of all, is that you are able to mobilise commitment and participation. Good communication, constructive feedback and focus on work balance is thus important. Do you want an exciting position where you get to develop a fantastic event for students? Head of Events 

Studentlekene Bergen Challenge is about the joy of sports. You cannot find that without the sports. The Head of Events is in charge of choosing the different sports, planning them, and arranging them. Meanwhile, you are responsible og booking arenas. This may sound easy on paper, but keeping an overview of 25 different sports at seven arenas, requires some capacity for handling simultaneous events. That is why the event section is the largest with almost 200 volunteers. Do you enjoy planning things to the smallest details? Do you like leading and motivating people? Do you want the most rewarding position in the student union (no bias here)? Take the position as Head of Events!

Head of Information

As head of information, you will be responsible for internal structure and communication. Furthermore, together with the assistant section leader, you must plan and carry out the employment of the approx. 650 volunteers. To do this, the organization needs a person who is organized and happy to plan larger projects.

In addition, you will be the leader of a section that deals with a lot of different things. Firstly, the information section is the creative heart of the Studentlekene Bergen Challenge – where you will create all of the graphic material and document both the way forward to SLBC, and during the event. That is, running SLBC’s own website, editorial office, video and photo. Furthermore, it is you who will be responsible for all the HR work, which involves internal social events and everyday fun in the organization.

This is a role that involves a lot of learning and a lot of fun.

Head of Logistic

Logistics is the cornerstone in Bergen Challenge. Volunteers, athletes and equipment must be at the right place in the right time. As Head of Logistics you will negotiate contracts with hotels, suppliers, schools and partners. Are you well structured and good at negotiating? Are you motivated by creating Norway’s largest student sports festival, leading a competent and great group of people in addition to creating friends for the rest of your life? Does this sound interesting, run for Head of Logistics in BC22!

Head of Corporate affairs

As Head of Corporate Affairs in BC, you are responsible for business collaborations and the conclusion of sponsorship agreements.  Agreements with external parties are a prerequisite for a successful student sports festival, both due to the financial support and the cooperation you get with the companies.  The Head of Corporate Affairs’ most central tasks will be to ensure BC great  partners, obtain loads of freebies and prizes as well as apply for support from funds and grants. The Head of Corporate Affairs should therefore have an enormous stamina, good communication skills and rock in negotiations.  You will be responsible for one of the smallest, but most tigh-knit, sections throughout BC.  If this sounds tempting, you should apply for the position as Head of Corporate Affairs in Bergen Challenge!

Head of Public Relations and Recruitment 

As Head of Public Relations and Recruitment, you are the face of Studentlekene Bergen Challenge and are responsible for PR and recruitment of contestants. The contestants are SLBC’s largest and most important revenue, and it is therefore essential that we create excitement amongst all students in Norway. Your tasks will include marketing the event on both digital and traditional media, as well as hosting Roadshows. During Roadshows volunteers visit schools throughout the whole country to recruit contestants. As Head of Public Relations and Recruitment you are given an unique opportunity to meet students from all over Norway, further develop SLBC’s brand and most importantly create excitement and enthusiasm about SLBC22. Head of Cultural affairs

Bergen Challenge is much more than just sports. There are concerts, revues, parties and banquets. As cultural director, you will be responsible for a section of 130 volunteers who will make Bergen Challenge go from being a sports event to a sports festival. So if you want to make sure that all participants during Bergen Challenge 2022 enjoy themselves as much off the field as on, you should definitely apply for the position of Head of Culture

Klubb- og kulturutvalget

Do you want to be a part of running and developing stud.NHHs second home? KKU is one of the largest sub-comittees in NHHS. Our main responsibility is to run Klubben, Campus and Aulabar and ensure that all of the groups at NHHS gets all the drinks they want. KKU´s tasks also include arranging parties and other social activities for the students. In other words: If something fun happens at the school, KKU is usually involved in some way or another! Our bars have a very high volume of sales and considerable income despite relatively low prices. When it comes to size, NHHS´s bars represent one of the biggest clubs in Bergen. Klubben is open on weekdays and is the go to club for arranging events at NHH. We can offer something for everybody and want to be the favourite choice for the times stud.NHH needs a break from the study-halls. The most important goal for KKU is to ensure that Klubben, Campus and Aulabar is run in the best way possible, and the members of the board must therefore continuously look for ways to improve day-to-day operations. KKU´s 40 members are arranged into 6 subdivisions and are helped by first-year students that work one shift in the bar during their first year at NHH. The board is responsible for interviewing and hiring new members to the group and plans the practical and economic activities for each semester. As a board member in KKU, you will be responsible at 3-4 parties throughout the year and have some regular shifts in the bar. A year by the helm of the most festive sub-committee in NHHS will undoubtedly yield many challenges and experiences, new friends, amazing afterparties, an unforgettable cabin-trip and a unique insight into how the legendary NHH-parties are arranged.

Leader

The leader of KKU has the responsibility of coordinating the work of the sub-committees members. This includes everything from daily operations to long term strategic planning. You will function as the placeholder for the person responsible for NHHS´s bar-license and it will be your responsibility to ensure that Klubben, Campus and Aulabar operates within the laws that apply for bars. As a leader you will encounter many exciting challenges. There is a lot happening in “Norway’s best and most active student union” and you are going to have a lot of contact with your co-students and other sub-committees and interest groups. There is actually a lot more going on in the basement than you would think, and you will experience that NHHS´s activity-plan contains a lot more than just two large parties. You will experience that the tasks you must solve can be anything from tiny to huge. You will therefore learn to tackle situations quickly and find solutions to most problems. As the leader of KKU, you will therefore experience that the concept of a “chill night” in the basement won`t mean the same as before, and that “Klubben” becomes your second home! However, in the end it is the pleasure of leading KKU´s fine members through the big parties that is best remembered by any leader of the sub-committee. There is a lot happening from the planning weeks in advance until picking empty plastic cups from the floor at 3 am. Such nights, and the position of leader in general, generates a lot of tired muscles, worn out shoes, but mostly a huge amount of good memories you would never be without. Run for leader of KKU!

Head of Financial Affairs

As the Head of Financial Affairs in the Club and Culture subcommittee, it is your main responsibility to have a good overview of the economy in KKU. It is a very educational and versatile position, where one gets to try several relevant and interesting tasks. You will, among other things, be responsible for budgeting, controlling vouchers, billing of other groups, approval of invoices and controlling all day settlements. You will be responsible for a staff of seven to nine members who will assist you in your work. You also need to have a good overview of what is happening at every part of the KKU’s bar operations, as you will continuously make decisions with the rest of the board. Head of Financial Affairs in KKU is a very interesting and fun position. Previous knowledge of accounting is not a requirement, as you will receive sufficient training and a supplementary “knowledge book”. So, don’t hesitate, seek Head of Financial Affairs in KKU!

Bar Manager

In the bar group there will be eleven to twelve members apart from yourself. As a bar manager, you will have to make sure you have an overview of everything that goes in and out of the warehouse. You will have a lot of contact with sub-committees and interest groups through ordering goods and distribution of drinks. In addition, you will be the contact person of Hansa. You will have exciting work tasks and work behind the scenes to find an attractive range of products and suitable prices. You do not need to be a beer fanatic or a wine connoisseur to become a bar manager. But are you reliable, interested in everything that happens behind the bar and ready to coordinate the studentunion´s inventory – yes, then you can become KKU´s next bar manager.

Head of Cultural Events

Do you want to make great things happen? Then Head of Cultural Events is the position for you! The main purpose of KKU is to offer a rich and broad activity and culture offer to the students at NHH, and this will be your main task. As Head of Cultural Events you will have the responsibility to initiate large parties as well as low threshold arrangements. Together with the members of your group you will be in charge of the whole process, form brainstorming to the actual execution of the events. You are also responsible for setting the right mood for the evening by decorating, to make sure the experience is overwhelmingly impressive. As Head of Cultural Events, you will also take care of the booking request of rooms in Kjelleren. Are you energetic, creative, and good at planning and arranging? Apply for the position!

Head of Social Affairs

This position is perfect for those who like to organize gatherings and enjoy others! As Head of Social Affairs, you are responsible for the labor force in Klubben, Campus and Aulabar. You create a work schedule for the members in Klubb- og kulturutvalget and worklist for the first-year students at school. That means you have to ensure that there are always enough people at work. Furthermore, you are responsible for the social environment internally in Klubb- og kulturutvalget.

Head of Public Relations

As head of Public Relations in KKU, you are responsible for ensuring that the whole school knows what is happening in Klubben. Together with your group, you will promote the events and set up ticket sales to KKU’s events. The position involves creating and distributing posters, posting news on the nhhs.no and the plasma screens, creating and selling tickets, updating Klubben’s Facebook page, and more. It’s just your imagination that sets the limits for what you can do to promote the events. One of your major challenges will be to get people down in Klubben on weekdays. To achieve this, you can coordinate with the head of cultural affairs. Are you eager to spread the word about what happens in the basement of NHH? Run for head of Public Relations!

Head of Technical Affairs

As head of technical affairs, you are responsible for ensuring that all the premises in the basement are ready for use. Purchasing and maintenance of fixtures and technical equipment are your main tasks, as well as ensuring that everyone in the KKU receives thorough training in the use of the equipment. You also have the responsibility to manage the use of the cash register system (KDR) and teach everyone in the KKU how this works. A good collaboration with the IT-group, the technical group (TG) and the Technical Department (TA) is important. You are also, together with TA, responsible for fire protection in the basement. Of course, there are a number of unforeseen challenges that will make your day-to-day life in KKU both varied and challenging.

Stafettkomitéen

Head of Stafettkomitéen

The Head of Stafettkomitéen is primarily responsible for the planning and implementation of the Bergensbaneløp. Also, the Head is accountable for running sessions and events for the rest of the semester. This involves, among other things, informing the other positions on the board and communicating and coordinating with NHHS and the Stafettkomité at BI.

Bergensbaneløpet is a relay with a long history and many great traditions. Besides, the commitment and encouragement for running are continuously increasing at NHH. If you want to maintain further development of this, then the Head position will suit you well.

Head of Finance – Deputy Head of Stafettkomiteen

As Head of Finance, you are responsible for budgeting, expense management, and follow-up of the budget related to daily operations and events. As Head of Finance, you are also deputy chairman of the board.

Head of Marketing

As the Head of Marketing, you are responsible for providing partners for the Bergensbaneløp and training. Besides, continue existing collaborations.

Head of Training

As head of Training, you will be responsible for the training program which shall ensure that NHH wins Bergensbaneløpet. The position entails making training plans for weekly trainings, following up the participants and scheduling qualification races.

Head of Track

As Head of Track you will be responsible for the track for the race. This entails that you will update descriptions and videos of the track. In addition, you will be responsible for making sure the rest of the board have control over the track of the race.

Head of Internal Affairs 

As Head of Internal Affairs you will be responsible for planning monthly suppers after training and for maintaining a good social environment both within the board and for the participants.

Head of Event

As Head of Event you will be responsible for planning of the banquet which will take place in Bergen in 2022.

The Business Committee

Head of Booking

As head of Booking, you are responsible for getting companies to arrange company presentations for students at NHH. This includes active booking and monitoring of enterprises, as well as planning towards booking opening autumn and spring. You need to be professional, think new and build a strategy on how to get the right and in-demand companies to the school. It is important to seek new industries and businesses that have not yet become aware of the students, as well as retain businesses that have previously arranged business presentation at school. In this position, you will really get close contact and a unique insight into the Norwegian business world.

Head of Presentations

As head of presentations, your role is to assist all visiting companies, and make sure that they have a good experience at NHH. This implies that you make sure all companies have a contact-person, helpers and facilities in order to accomplish what the visitors wish to do. The arrangement of facilities is done in cooperation with Unni Barbro (orgsek-Unni), and she is very helpful. You will communicate closely with other memebers of the business committee in order to ensure a professional and thorough experience and accomplish what the company wishes to do at NHH.

In addition to this, you have responsibility for internal logistics, orders of drinks and other equipment which is needed at company presentations. Here you have a helping group which will assist you, where most will do an adequate job.

In addition to this, the board works tightly on at-hand-issues, which we resolve as a team.

Head of Information

As Head of Information, you have the overall responsibility for the flow of information between the students and the companies and are in daily contact with companies that wants to promote job ads and other events. You are responsible for social media, selling advertising, managing of pictures and other promotion material, and similar work. The position is very open and gives you the opportunity to influence how NU appears both for students and companies.

Finance Manager

The work as finance manager involves managing the finances of one of NHHS’s largest sources of income. This provides great opportunities to influence the student life both in the short and long term. The tasks mainly consist of preparing budgets, invoicing companies, internal accounting, and preparing long-term plans for how NU will be run. Much of the actual eco-work is done in collaboration with the Accounting Group and the finance manager in the Executive Board, in addition, you will work closely with the finance manager for the Career Days and Women’s Finance Day. You also have the eco-group in NU to help you with your work tasks.

The work is both challenging and educational. You will gain a deeper understanding of how the theoretical subjects in the bachelor’s work in practice, and how large organizations manage financially.

In addition to being responsible for finances, you are also a deputy manager. This means that you are a functioning leader if the leader is absent. You become a sparring partner and the leader’s right hand.

Promotion Committee

Finance Manager – Deputy Manager

As deputy manager and finance manager, you have several tasks in the Profiling Committee. You are responsible for preparing budgets in collaboration with the leader and the core board, and to ensure that these are complied. In the deputy manager role, you are the manager’s deputy and supporter. After six months as deputy manager, you will automatically transfer to the managerial position. You will then have the overall responsibility for all the Profiling Committee’s activities and events, including planning, management and strategic work together with the rest of the PU board. It is also your responsibility to coordinate the subcommittee’s cooperation with the core board.

Information Officer

As Information Officer in the Profiling Committee, you get a unique insight into the Student Organization! You will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the Association Meeting, which is NHHS’s highest body. In close collaboration with Info KS, you will ensure a good flow of information before, during and after the meeting. In addition, you will be an important contributor on the board of a very active subcommittee with proud social traditions!

HR Manager

As HR manager, you have the day-to-day responsibility for all members of the Profiling Committee. You are responsible for the PUrs.sos group, as well as the planning of all the internal events PU conducts during the semester. Your most important task is to ensure that all members of the subcommittee have fun and pleasant throughout the semester and are motivated and engaged in the work the Profiling Committee does for the student association.

SPU

Deputy Head of SPU

The Deputy is responsible for several essential tasks in the SPU. These involve, among other things, being responsible for board meetings and general meetings, representing the SPU on FM and SF. Besides, the Deputy is accountable for follow-up on the various committees inside SPU. The Deputy is also responsible for SPU’s finances and to make sure it goes well.

The Student Committee

Deputy Head of the Student Committee

The Deputy Head of the Student Committee is liable for the committee’s organizational affairs and is responsible for its economy and auditing. Organizing the members of the school’s committees, institutions and internal workgroups are within the Deputy Head’s field of responsibility. The Deputy Head must administer the Student Committee’s members and be accessible to the Head of Information. The Deputy Head is responsible for arranging and leading the committee’s meetings. At the NHHS General Assembly, the Deputy Head is required to represent the Student Committee and provide necessary information. The Deputy Head is obligated to be present at the Strategic Forum and has authority to vote on behalf of the Student Committee. The Deputy Head replaces the Head of the Student Committee when necessary and is a permanent representative in Læringsmiljøutvalget.

Head of Information

The Head of Information is responsible for providing NHH’s students with relevant information about the Student Committee’s activities. This includes administering the committee’s social media accounts. The Head of Information is also responsible for recruiting new members for the committee, in accordance with NHHS’s current program. Social arrangements and office maintenance are also included in the Head of Information’s field of responsibility. The Head of Information writes the minutes when the committee conducts meetings. The Head of Information is also a permanent representative in Læringsmiljøutvalget.
