Do you want to join one of Scandinavia’s most active student unions? Now you have the chance! A position in the student union will provide you with many useful experiences, challenges and opportunities to work with something you are passionate about. You will get to know students across classes, as well as establish many new friendships.
A position in NHHS is developing, educational and social. Theoretical knowledge from school is admittedly important, but practical experience from NHHS is extremely valuable later in life. There is a wide range of positions that can be applied for, and it is easy to find something you are interested in.
Whether you are attending your first year at NHH or are an experienced NHHS member who wants to have fun or are passionate about influencing the subjects at NHH, there is a position that is right for you! All we expect is that you want to learn something new and spend some time at the student union.
Available positions
Every year, two student representatives are chosen to sit on the board at NHH. Now, the time has come to select this year’s candidates, and you can run as a candidate in the spring election! As a representative on the NHH board, you will have the opportunity to be the voice of the students when important decisions for NHH are made together with the other board members. You will gain valuable experience, but most of all, you will have the joy of representing NHHS. Bergen Challenge is the organizer behind Norway’s largest student sports festival. You’ve probably heard that before, but what does it actually mean? It means that every other autumn, more than 2,500 students gather in Bergen to compete in a wide range of sports. It means that we host the most extensive and professional cultural program among all Studentlekene in Norway. And most importantly, it means that we need to have full control over logistics and finances to make it all come together.
But to achieve this, we need the most important thing of all—people. Over 600 incredible volunteers ensure that Bergen Challenge is a success, and now you have the opportunity to lead them!
Leader
As the Leader of Bergen Challenge, you hold the highest responsibility for Studentlekene Bergen. You work closely with the Norwegian Student Sports Association (NSI) and oversee all sections to ensure the best possible event. In addition, you get to lead several hundred amazing volunteers, guiding the journey from an eight-person board all the way to the finish line at Last Call.

Head of Finance
As Finance Manager of Bergen Challenge, you have overall responsibility for the event’s finances. You lead budget planning, monitor spending, and ensure sustainable financial management to enable the best possible execution of the event. This position provides valuable insight into the financial operations of a large student-driven project while working closely with all other sections.
Additionally, you are responsible for securing funding through grants, managing applications, and maintaining dialogue with external stakeholders. As Finance Manager, you also serve as Deputy Leader of Bergen Challenge and act as the Leader’s substitute when needed, giving you a key role in the board and influence over the event’s planning and execution.
Head of PR
Bergen Challenge is NHHS’s second-largest project, with over 2,500 participants and more than 550 volunteers. As Head of PR, you play a key role in achieving these numbers, being responsible for recruiting volunteers through four hiring rounds and attracting participants from all over Norway.
The PR section is the largest in Bergen Challenge, with many group leader roles and a wide variety of tasks. We have teams focused on recruitment in major student cities, outreach to smaller student communities, and organizing participation in Bergen. In addition, there are the «technical teams,» which support all sections, especially PR, with video production, photography, graphic design, IT, and social media. And, of course, we can’t forget Baluba!
As Head of PR, you will lead 65-75 volunteers and oversee a dynamic, creative, and exciting workload. This role offers plenty of fun, growth, and unforgettable experiences!
Head of Sports
The Sports Section is the heart of Bergen Challenge and the largest section in the organization. As Head of Sports, you will lead a team of around 200 volunteers and have overall responsibility for executing 25 sports across 14 venues in Bergen during Studentlekene Bergen.
The role involves extensive planning, coordination with NSI and the rest of the organization, as well as overseeing the execution of the sports events – with great freedom to shape both the section and the competition. Additionally, you will be responsible for medical services, participant support, and, most importantly, Idrett for alle!
To succeed in this role, you must be able to juggle multiple tasks at once, stay cool under pressure, and, of course, have a passion for sports!

The HR section is one of the most important parts of Bergen Challenge, from start to finish. This is where the journey begins for all volunteers, from the first interview to the final volunteer party. The HR team’s job is to ensure that everyone feels welcome, valued, and motivated throughout the entire event.
As Head of HR, you will be responsible for recruitment rounds, internal communication, and volunteer well-being. You will organize interviews, hiring events, cabin trips, and volunteer parties, all while working to create an inclusive and engaging environment. Head of Cultural Events
As Head of Cultural Events at Bergen Challenge, you are responsible for all cultural activities throughout the event. This includes everything from the grand banquet and sports show to the opening ceremony and the popular death diving show, which has become a cherished tradition. These cultural experiences set the stage for Bergen Challenge and help make it Norway’s largest student sports festival.
In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated volunteers who ensure that every event is carefully planned and executed with high quality. You will have the opportunity to be creative, create unforgettable experiences, and collaborate closely with multiple sections to deliver a professionally executed program.
Head of Logistics
As Head of Logistics at Bergen Challenge, you have the overall responsibility for ensuring that the event runs smoothly from start to finish. This includes everything from managing kiosks and coordinating participant accommodations to planning and overseeing transportation needs. You will work closely with other sections to ensure the best possible experience for both participants and volunteers.
Logistics is one of the most complex sections of Bergen Challenge, requiring both attention to detail and a strong strategic overview. You will be responsible for everything from pre-event planning to execution during the festival. The role demands structure, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges. As Head of Logistics, you will gain unique insight into how a large student-driven project is managed and play a key role in the success of the event.
Leader
The Leader is responsible for ensuring that KKU provides a good welfare offering to NHHS and is in charge of coordinating KKU’s activities. The Leader must ensure that the board and members of KKU are familiar with all applicable guidelines for the operation of the subcommittee and is responsible for ensuring that everyone in KKU receives sufficient and appropriate training. The Leader is the deputy for the holder of the liquor license and is responsible for ensuring that all members of KKU are familiar with the key points of the Alcohol Licensing Act.
Financial Manager
The Financial Manager has overall responsibility for all financial activities in KKU and must manage KKU’s finances toward established goals. In consultation with the NHHS Controller, the Financial Manager is responsible for setting KKU’s bar prices and pricing for external sales.
Bar Manager
The Bar Manager is responsible for KKU’s inventory, which includes purchasing goods, external sales, and stock management. The Bar Manager serves as KKU’s contact person with beverage suppliers. The Bar Manager should be involved in the process of determining KKU’s bar prices and pricing for external sales.
Personnel Manager
The Personnel Manager is responsible for staffing and shift schedules within KKU, as well as managing the duty call system and the contribution system during the First-Year Week.
Venue Manager
The Venue Manager is responsible for maintaining the premises under KKU’s responsibility, including the inventory and technical equipment of these premises, as well as the cash register system in the bars. The Venue Manager must ensure that all KKU members receive sufficient training in handling technical equipment.
PR Manager
The PR Manager is responsible for KKU’s external information flow and the marketing of KKU’s events. Additionally, the PR Manager is in charge of planning and executing ticket sales for KKU’s events.
Event Coordinator
The Event Coordinator is responsible for regularly organizing low-threshold events at the Club/Campus, ensuring that cleaning routines in KKU’s premises are maintained, and managing the booking and rental of KKU’s facilities. In consultation with the Head of the Security Corps, the Event Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the building is adequately staffed with security personnel during events. Additionally, together with the Internal Affairs Officer in the Core Board, the Event Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with the guidelines for the use of NHHS facilities.
Leader
The leader has overall responsibility for ensuring that academic questions from students are addressed and for organizing the Student Political Committee (SPU). In addition, the leader is responsible for bringing matters from the school’s leadership and administration to the Student Political Committee. The leader is also a permanent representative in the Education Committee and the Learning Environment Committee.
Head of International Cooperation
The International Cooperation Officer is the elected representative of NHHS in ENGAGE.EU and the Board of Learners. This also includes leading the working group ENGAGE.EUxNHHS, which consists of other representatives from interest groups and subcommittees. The International Cooperation Officer is also responsible for the contact, planning, and execution of the SPU study trip.
Head of Stafettkomiteen
The Head of Stafettkomitéen is primarily responsible for the planning and implementation of Bergensbaneløpet. Also, the Head is accountable for running sessions and events for the rest of the semester. This involves, among other things, informing the other positions on the board and communicating and coordinating with NHHS and the relay committee at BI.
Bergensbaneløpet is a relay with a long history and many great traditions. Besides, the commitment and encouragement for running are continuously increasing at NHH. If you want to maintain further development of this, then the Head position will suit you well.

As Head of Finance, you are responsible for budgeting, expense management, and follow-up of the budget related to daily operations and events. As Head of Finance, you are also deputy chairman of the board.
