The Executive Board
Sitting on the Executive Board is an experience that isn’t easily described, but let’s give it a try anyway. The Executive Board is the umbrella over the entire student association. We aim to make it as rewarding, fun, and challenging as possible to be a part of NHHS, whether you are involved at the highest level in a subcommittee or a member of an interest group. The Executive Board is responsible for the day-to-day operations of NHHS and ensures that the student association functions as it should. Over the past nine months, all board members have put in a lot of effort to provide the best possible conditions for the operation and development of all subcommittees and interest groups. Throughout the calendar year, the Executive Board also organizes a variety of events and plays a role in shaping events like “Førstekullsuken» and the «Tillitsvalgseminar.» This, of course, requires both time and planning, but there’s nothing more enjoyable than creatingsomething that brings happiness and satisfaction to so many. This year has been largely characterized by the need to think innovatively, and the Executive Board has had to make many tough decisions. This is a significant responsibility, and if you wish to run for the Executive Board, you must be prepared and motivated for it.
Another of the Executive Board’s tasks is to represent NHHS in various contexts. Everything from conferences to other representation around Norway and the Nordic countries is attended by NHHS, not to mention all the exciting things happening at NHH. These tasks can be enjoyable, but at the same time, they are very important. The Executive Board consists of eight people who work closely together, and by the end of the year, the other seven will know you better than many others. The office will, in many ways, feel like your second home, and you will spend a lot of time here. Therefore, it’s important that the Executive Board members get along well and have good teamwork within the board. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the optimal composition of the Executive Board, but one commonality is the advantage of having a diverse group of people with different experiences. This way, you will bring forward as many perspectives as possible when discussing an issue and be well-equipped to make the best decision for the majority of NHHS.
In the Executive Board, you will be involved in major decisions in NHHS and discuss central issues within the association. The Executive Board processes applications, initiates new projects, and advocates for issues with the leadership at NHH. A common thread in the work you do is that you always try to act in the best interest of NHHS as a whole. This comes with a lot of responsibility, a steep learning curve, but also a lot of joy! You will become skilled at organizing and planning, and you will learn to make quick decisions in pressured situations. You will become organized because such planning and execution require both effort and discipline. Speaking in front of larger gatherings will also become something you are comfortable with, and your debating skills will improve through the many interesting discussions you will take part in. We hope you run for election if this sounds exciting to you.
Good luck!

UKEN
DEAR FELLOW STUDENT! Congratulations! You are on the right track. You are now looking at what might be your first step towards the most fun and challenging thing you can spend your time on at NHHS – namely, UKEN!
UKEN is by far the largest subcommittee at NHH. It will ultimately consist of around 1,000 fUKENsjonærer (volunteers) from both NHH and other educational institutions in Bergen. This makes UKEN Norway’s second-largest student festival. Over the course of 17 days, more than 30,000 visitors will pass through NHH to experience what UKEN has to offer. The program has previously featured everything from world record attempts and children’s and seniors’ days to concerts and revues. The UKErevy (UKEN Revue) has won awards multiple times at the Norwegian Student Revue Championships and is a traditional, professional production in the city of Bergen. It is the UKEstyret (UKEN Board) that gets to decide exactly what the program for UKEN 26 will contain, which records will be broken, what the theme of UKErevyen 26 will be, and who will perform on the many stages of UKEN. If you join the UKE family, I promise you many new friendships and memories for life. Proof of this is all the former fUKENsjonærer who return in droves to every UKEN to relive the unique feeling that UKEN gave them and still gives them.
Creating UKEN 26 is going to be the most fun thing you have ever done in your life! UKEgreetings from UKEstyret 24.
Head of UKEN
As UKE Leader, you have two tasks:
1: Have the most fun of anyone in UKEN.
2: Take responsibility when things go wrong and give praise when everything goes well.
If you think you can manage these two things, there should be no doubt—you should run for UKE Leader! As UKE Leader, you will manage the largest subcommittee at NHH. Together with 1,000 other fUKENsjonærer, you will create a festival with 30,000 visitors and a turnover in the double-digit millions. When UKEN kicks off in March 2026, you can enjoy a fully professional festival that YOU have led to success! You will never have worked harder, you will never have felt so much anxiety, and you will never do a job that is so worth it!
Head of Revue
The first UKErevy was staged in Bergen as early as 1946. In other words, as Revue Director, you are entrusted with nothing less than a piece of cultural heritage! As the Revue Director for UKEN, you are responsible for a section of 70–90 members, who often share expertise in areas such as sound, lighting, music, costume design, dance, or similar fields. This makes the role somewhat unique, as you will likely lead a group of people who know much more than you do in their specific area, and humility is a healthy approach to the role. The revue section also tends to be a group that puts in an incredible number of hours in the auditorium, so it’s important to know how to motivate! You decide whether to be more or less involved in the creative process, but you are the one responsible for the organizational execution of the revue process. The sense of camaraderie created in the Revue Section in the NHH auditorium is something truly special!
Head of PR
Do you want to ensure that UKEN 26 becomes the most attended UKEN ever? Then you should run for PR Manager! As PR Manager, your job is to make sure that everyone knows about UKEN. The school and the city will be painted green, and the UKE joy will be spread to all, as it has been since the 80s. Whether through social media, campaigns, ticket releases, stunts, or other crazy ideas, everyone should understand that UKEN 26 will be the highlight of the year! As PR Manager, you will be responsible for all of UKEN’s external communication. You need to be both organized and a bit creative. If you like making others happy, and you get a thrill when you hear the word «sold out,» there is only one thing to do: RUN FOR PR MANAGER!
Head of Finance
«You can study economics in London, Copenhagen, or even BI, but it’s only at NHH that you can try it out in practice,» a wise UKEpamp (UKE bigwig) once said. As Finance Manager in UKEN, this is truer than in perhaps any other position. You hold overall responsibility for budgeting, accounting, reporting, and payment management related to UKEN. Additionally, you work a lot on developing financial routines in the UKE organization, as well as risk and sales analyses. UKEN has a turnover of several million kroner—there are few similar experiences to bring with you out of your studies!
Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations
Do you want to be UKEN’s foremost ambassador to the business world? As Marketing Manager, you lead the work on UKEN’s partnership agreements with Norwegian businesses. Everything from negotiations and follow-up of small supplier contracts to the largest main partnerships goes through your section. UKEN has partnerships with companies that go back as far as 20 years. This is not only due to many skilled former Marketing Managers but also because UKEN delivers a product that is entirely unique. You will manage this product and get an early insight into «life after death»—the business world.
Head of Information/Deputy Head
Do you want to gain unique insight into the UKE organization while leading your own section? As Information Manager, you get the opportunity to do just that by being both the leader of the Information Section and the Deputy Leader of UKEN. In addition, you can adorn yourself with the title of General Secretary. As Information Manager, you will have many different tasks and be responsible for everything from hiring rounds to internal information flow and social events for the fUKENsjonærer. You will work on a variety of challenges and learn a lot about leadership and project management. In the Information Section, there are groups working on technical tasks and others with more practical responsibilities, which means you’ll face a broad range of interesting challenges and learn a lot. The Information Section is also the central hub of UKEN and consisted of 150 fUKENsjonærer in UKEN 24. Together with these fUKENsjonærer, you will ensure that UKEN has cool websites, magical photographs, sleek designs, memorable parties, and much more!
Head of Sales
Imagine being the manager of Bergen’s largest nightclub! That’s exactly what you are as Sales Manager in UKEN. Not only that, but you also lead UKEN’s largest section, which in UKEN 22 included well over 400 fUKENsjonærer. You will oversee all of UKEN’s bar operations, food sales, logistics, and security. Additionally, you will work on supplier agreements for food and beverages, such as deciding what kind of wine the UKE wine of 24 will be. Your section ensures the party in the auditorium and the Kjelleren during UKEN, and what a party it is!
Head of Events
UKEN is a culture festival, and the type of culture the festival will offer is decided by the Event Section. This section books artists, organizes technical setups, creates shows and events, arranges sports days, and children’s and seniors’ days, among other things. It requires a lot of work, but if you’re interested in music and culture, enjoy planning, and love organizing things, there’s no better position at NHHS. Since the 80s, UKEN has brought joy and excitement to both fUKENsjonærer and visitors. Are you the Event Manager who will take UKEN to new heights?
