How do I apply for financial support for my group?2025-10-25T10:47:20+02:00

There are several different funding schemes available for groups within NHHS. Which ones you can apply for depends on what the funding is for. Subcommittees primarily receive financial support directly from NHHS through the budget but can also apply to KS for additional funds beyond their budget. Interest groups can also apply for funding from NHHS but are primarily expected to seek external sources.

Applications for financial support for events or investments should follow the template found on NHHS-felles in G Suite and be sent to your contact person in the Executive Board (Kjernestyret) or to oko@nhhs.no. In addition, there are a few specific funding schemes for NHHS groups:

Høyskolefondene (HSF)

HSF can provide deficit coverage for open events such as student-run academic conferences, workshops, and similar events. HSF has three application rounds per year with the following deadlines for 2023:

  1. Round: January 25

  2. Round: April 21

  3. Round: September 18

Fund for Social Purposes for Students

This is a small fund with one application round per year. Allocations from this fund also cover deficits but on a much smaller scale than HSF. The application deadline for 2023 was:

  1. Round: April 21

Foreningen For

The foundation Foreningen For mainly supports the purchase of equipment, such as musical instruments, technical gear, or room upgrades. This grant scheme has two rounds per year, with tentative deadlines at the end of January and August (awaiting confirmation — information will be published as soon as possible).

All of the above funding schemes are administered through the Executive Board (Kjernestyret), which handles the recommendations. Applications are submitted digitally, and the Financial Officer sends out information via email to leaders and financial officers of subcommittees and interest groups as deadlines approach.

For other funding opportunities for NHHS groups, check:

  • nhhi.no – for equipment funding

  • Kulturstyret Bergen – for cultural group support

Event Funding Scheme

In 2023, a new funding scheme for events in NHHS was introduced. This means that if you, your group, or your group of friends want to organize something fun, there’s an opportunity to get it funded!
The purpose of this initiative is to replace discontinued grant programs and to make it easier (and more fun!) for NHHS students to create activities — with a quick processing time and rolling application deadline.

Examples of Events

Events can take many forms, such as:

  • Basement party

  • Waffle-making

  • Mountain trip

  • Revue / Aula show

  • Academic lecture / workshop

  • Themed party

  • Mini-concert
    …and much more!

Guidelines for the Event Funding Scheme

The funding scheme works as a deficit coverage system.

The event must be open, meaning:

  • Low ticket price

  • Open to stud.nhh (NHH students)

  • The event should promote student well-being

Additional requirements:

  • Events should aim to use internal venues and equipment

  • Must comply with resource booking guidelines

Application and reporting requirements:

  • Applications are sent to Øko KS with Prosjekt KS in copy.

  • Decisions are made by Leder KS, Øko KS, and Prosjekt KS.

  • The application must include:

    • Date

    • Purpose / justification

    • Number of participants and target group

    • Budget

    • Any other external funding applications

    • Need for internal resources

After the event, a report must be submitted describing the event and including the financial statement.
Øko KS provides updates on approved applications during FS meetings.

Application Process

Send your application to oko@nhhs.no with arrangement@nhhs.no in copy.
It will then be reviewed by KS (Leader, Finance, and Project), and you’ll receive a response regardless of the outcome.

After the event, submit a report describing the event and including an accounting summary.

Templates for the application and report can be found here and here.

How do I buy a ticket to Welcome Week?2025-10-25T10:42:03+02:00

The student association at NHH uses Orbi for ticket sales to events, including the Welcome Week. Ticket sales for other events organized by the student association later in the semester will also take place through the Orbi app, so it’s very useful to have it!

How to create an Orbi account:

  2. Create an account and select “Norges Handelshøyskole.”

How to buy a ticket for Welcome Week:
In the app, you’ll find “Welcome Week NHH 2025” under “Memberships.”

Tickets will be available on August 9th at 12:00 PM!

Questions regarding tickets can be sent to pg.oko@nhhs.no.

How do I apply for a reimbursement?2025-03-21T11:29:31+01:00

In order to get approved and reimbursed an expense you make in NHHS, you should first and foremost clarify with the head of finance for your subcommittee that this is a purchase that is covered by their budget.

In practical terms, all you have to do is fill out the reimbursement form. We will make sure the form has been filled in correctly, and that the quality of the documentation is sufficient. Read our disbursement guide here to save both yourself and us time. You will receive a confirmation that the reimbursement form has been received, and we will then send it to an electronic approval by both the head of finance for the subcommittee and an employee of the Accounting Group (Regnskapsgruppen). If the reimbursement is approved, it is sent for payment.

What is considered acceptable documentation?2020-07-14T01:35:15+02:00

In order for us to be able to reimburse an expense you make for NHHS, the documentation must be sufficient for our auditor to approve it (cf. the Accounting Regulations § 5-1-1). If you want money back for a purchase, the receipt must be included as a confirmation for the outlay. We must have a specification of what was purchased, a date stamp that shows when it was purchased, sum, VAT processing, and information about where the purchase was made. If the purchase confirmation is not from a company that provides a proper receipt, you must in addition to proof of service documentation also attach a bank statement confirming payment. The more documentation you provide, the less likely you are to get the form returned.

The purpose of the documentation is to confirm that the cost is genuine, that it can be linked to NHHS’s operations, that it occurs during the period in which we post it, and that the correct VAT treatment is performed.

How do I make outlays for my subcommittee?2025-10-25T11:02:08+02:00

To have an expense you incur in NHHS approved and reimbursed, you should first confirm with the financial officer of your subcommittee that the purchase is covered by their budget.

Practically, all you need to do is fill out a digital expense form. Once the form is completed, it will be sent to your student association email. We will check that the form is filled out correctly and that the supporting documentation is sufficient.

Read our expense guide here to save both yourself and us time. You will receive a confirmation that the expense form has been received, and it will then be sent for electronic approval by both the financial officer of the subcommittee and a staff member in the Accounting Group.

If the expense is approved, it will be processed for payment.

What is approved documentation?2025-10-25T11:03:00+02:00

For us to reimburse an expense you make on behalf of NHHS, the documentation must be sufficient for our auditor to approve it (cf. Accounting Regulation § 5-1-1).

If you want to be reimbursed for a purchase, the receipt must be attached as a supporting document to the expense form. We require:

  • A specification of what was purchased

  • Date stamp showing when it was bought

  • Amount

  • VAT treatment

  • Information about the company where the purchase was made

If the purchase confirmation is not from a company that provides a proper receipt, you must also provide some form of agreement documentation and a bank statement showing proof of payment. The more complete your documentation, the less likely it is that the form will be returned to you for corrections.

The purpose of the documentation is to confirm that the expense is genuine, related to NHHS operations, recorded in the correct accounting period, and that VAT treatment is applied correctly.

Where should I meet up for the matriculation?2025-10-25T11:00:09+02:00

You can see where the Aula is located on the map here.
