NHHS has three subcommittees that differ slightly from the others: UKEN, Bergen Challenge and NHH Symposium. UKEN and NHH-Symposiet are project organizations that are responsible for an event in the spring in even-numbered and odd-numbered years, respectively, while Bergen Challenge arranges a student sports festival in the autumn in odd-numbered years.
UKEN 20 will be this year’s largest student-run festival. Over 1200 volunteer FUKENsjoners come together to create 17 days of partying and fun! The UKEN program is packed with everything from crazy concerts and revues, to world record attempts, children’s and seniors’ days and much much more.
Central during the festival is UKErevyen, which is the very soul of UKEN. Every UKEN, a completely separate revue is set up, which up to several times has won the National Championships in student revues, most recently last year. In addition to revues, wild experiences are created year after year at concert arenas such as the UKE tent and the Aula stage. Great artists have visited the WEEK through the ages, including Axwell Λ Ingrosso, MØ, Backstreet Boys, Kygo, Veronica Maggio, 50 Cent, The White Stripes, Tiesto and Karpe Diem. The magical atmosphere that is created in the UK tent and the auditorium when some of the world’s biggest stars enter the stage is absolutely invaluable for both guests and FUKENsjoners.
With revues and concerts in focus, the best thing about the festival is the breadth that exists both in terms of events and the FUKENsjoners’ work tasks! There is something for everyone, and three weeks of fantastic experiences for young and old make the UKEN a cultural event not to be missed!
SL Bergen Challenge
SL Bergen Challenge (SLBC) is Norway’s largest student sports festival, with over 600 officials and 2300 participants. Four wonderful October days fill Bergen with students from all over the country. The participants gather in the capital of Western Norway to compete in over 24 different sports. Here you will find everything from futsal and volleyball to chess and E-sports. With an eventful program, we will together create a meeting place where sports enjoyment and culture are at the center.
SLBC is a sports festival and this means that we arrange a number of cultural events. Here we set up a revue in the Aula, in addition to a spectacular opening ceremony at Festplassen and an adventurous banquet in the Grieg Hall. There is something for everyone here, and we want to have you with us from the start!
SL Bergen Challenge is held during the autumn holidays 2020, and employs twice this semester. The first application round opens on 2 September with a deadline of 6 September at 16:00.

The NHH Symposium is well-established as one of Europe’s largest student-run business conferences and is organized exclusively by students at NHH. The NHH Symposium aims to be the students’ voice in the public debate, and will put topics that we students think are important on the agenda. The conference itself runs over two days and is held every other year. Since 1983, the NHH Symposium has been a prestigious conference, and today has about 350 participants.
Over the years, the conference has had some of the world’s leading representatives from politics, academia and business as contributors. Among others, Martin Wolf, Henry Kissinger, Yngve Slyngstad, Gro Harlem Brundtland, Kåre Willoch and Michael Porter can be mentioned among the diversity of speakers. The NHH Symposium will be an important arena for today’s and tomorrow’s social actors. Here, new thoughts and ideas will create solutions to the challenges we will face in the future. Our goal is to create Norway’s best conference experience through an engaging and current topic, inspiring speakers and constitute what we call «the perfect meeting place» for business, politics, culture, academia and students.
The NHH Symposium is also widely known for hosting the world’s best toga party, Symposion! Look forward to the first litter week and the evening after the NHH Symposium!
The next Symposium will be held from 23 to 24 March 2021.
