The internship entails one semester at UNICEF Norway in Oslo, and one semester at UNICEF Malawi in Lilongwe, Africa. We’ll be employing two interns, one of whom will spend their first semester in Oslo and second in Africa, and vice versa for the other intern.
Throughout the year you’ll get unique insight into how UNICEF works to protect the rights of children globally. Additionally you’ll gain experience with international developmental work, insight in the UN system and valuable knowledge for future international endeavours. Your tasks will be decided based on your skillset and the needs of the offices throughout the period of your stay.
At UNICEF Norway you’ll learn more about marketing and how the organization works with fundraising in the business environment. You’ll work with generating funds through UNICEF’s partners as well as helping make the organization visible. Your tasks will be varied and will include everything from dialogue with businesses to data analysis.
At UNICEF Malawi you’ll work with projects related to education, both administratively and through field trips. You’ll take part in UNICEF’s cooperation with the government and other organizations in Malawi, as well as helping with relations between UNICEF Norway and Malawi respectively. Finally, you’ll share your experiences through blogging and Instagram. The stay in Malawi is an opportunity presented exclusively to NHH students. Its purpose is to help widen the horizons of these students as well as helping them explore a world they’re likely unfamiliar with.
